Mental Health Awareness Evening arranged by Pontarddulais AFC

Arranged by Pontarddulais Town AFC.

Mental Health is a massive issue in society at the moment and we want to help people in the community.

1 in 4 people suffer from mental health issues so as a club we have put on a Mental Health Awareness evening on Friday 19th October in Pontarddulais Rugby Club, in association with Andrew Caress from the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust to raise awareness; to offer help, guidance and support for people who are struggling with mental health and for anyone worrying about loved ones who you suspect may be struggling.

The talk is aimed more towards youngsters but there will be an emphasis on how to recognise mental health within young adults and teenagers, but everyone is invited to attend if they wish.

The evening would be beneficial to any coaches and teachers who work with youngsters on a regular basis. The more we talk about mental health, the less stigmatised it becomes and we can reach out to more people and help more.

Andrew will be talking for most of the evening about these issues and then we'll have 2 local people give talks on their experiences and advice on how to improve your mental health.

The evening starts at 7pm.
